I almost regret being the first tubenetter to propose marriage to the lovely and talented Ms. Carol. She may have an aversion to pot-bellied old geezers or laugh at my pathetic attempts to woo her.
But you never know until you try. She might find me amusing or super-talented. (Might!) I mean no disrespect but I have this powerful urge to buy her a house.

Then there was the middle section of the English "art" song I sang at state contest as a freshman in high school, for which I received a "I" rating, of course:

"Dispair gives courage oft to men and if she smile, why then?
Why then? And if she smile...Why then? Why then? Why then! Why Then!...."

Which females would those be (present company excepted, of course). There is only a handful of ladies on Tubenet, at least who have identified themselves as such.

And at least one of them hasn't been uninterested in male tuba players.

Come to think of it, young male tuba players who have 1.) displayed extraordinary talent and maturity, and 2.) are photogenic are about as small a handful as the ladies.

But everyone knows the proposals are in jest, because tuba players only marry flute players.

Why would it be bad for a girl to play flute if it's sissy? I mean.. isn't that the point? :o

What's the difference between a sax and a bagpipes?

With bagpipes, at least you can try to walk away from the noise... 8)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

You might want to contemplate that one for quite a while, Ralph. This might qualify for the "Unnatural Acts" category.

I'd take this a step further. I much prefer girls/ladies who are at least a little bit sissy.

Me, too.

When we were dating, she mentioned to me that she needed a new car. Since she sold chemicals at the time, I suggested a small pickup truck so her samples would not find their way into the air she had to breathe all day. She looked at me and said, "I can't drive a truck. I'm a girl."

That's my kind of girl. And you are "blessed beyond deserving," as am I.

Actually, it might work out OK (if they don't mind their progeny growing up to be ophicleide players -- or was that what you were referring to? ) ...

The combination you really want to avoid is sax and violin(s)!

So who is this Carol Jantsch?

I heard she obtained world peace just by playing her tuba (see Bill and Ted)

Let's just save time and add in our favorite lines from the "Who is Bloke" thread (changing the gender, of course). I'll start.

To paraphrase the elephant:

Did she abscond with the church funds? Run off with a senator's husband? I like to think she killed a man. It's the Romantic in me.
