NBC has always been my favorite for morning news because of the local news folks. I'm glad to see Couric go... along with all of her chittering and stupid attempts at humor. I tuned to a different channel this morning. Good riddance!

I suspect that they're trying to wring every last little bit of made-up excitement that they can, while they still can. And I am sure that focus groups were consulted ad nauseum as to what the best way to handle this (as far as ratings go).

And yes, we've reached the new low where the News itself is being substituted for news. Who needs actual occurances?

Maybe they learned from the Letterman (NBC to CBS) and Stern (Viacom? to Sirius) debacles.
