GW, Alan Baer MMVI pieces

Post by jbeish »

I currently have the MMVI F mouthpiece and it is just fantastic. I have a "raw" cut mouthpiece and I have compared it to a "finished" (shiny) piece that just didn't feel the same or have the same sound colour or timbre that the raw piece has. Has anyone else had this experience? I really want to order his CC MMVI but I think I'd like to have a "raw" cut of that too. I'd be curious to see if Mr. Baer has any thoughts on the raw vs. finished piece but I really can't see bothering him with an email. Any thoughts?

I am guessing that the raw piece weighs more than the cut and polished piece. Then again, if the raw piece was a prototype, it may in fact have slightly different internal dimensions as well.
