You know, Earle Hagen, the man who wrote the tune, is still around, retired in Palm Springs. I wonder if he might consider his own tuba ensemble arrangement?

What a great idea! I hope someone comes up with an arrangement of it - that's one of my favorites. Maybe we could put a bug in Corey Dawson's ear concerning this song, and see if he would arrange it.

Carol Jantsch wrote an arrangement of this tune when she was at Interlochen. It hasn't been published.

It was either for tuba-euph ensemble or tuba duet. I believe the former, which is what you're looking for.

The version of "Harlem Nocturne" she wrote was for tuba duet.

She is not interested in sharing it. Here is her exact message.

Hi Frank,

I did a transcription for tuba duet. I don't think I should circulate it for copyright purposes, sorry. I don't need legal trouble this early. :)

Carol

Although I don't know Carol, I must applaud her statement about not circulating because of copyright issues. She did not say "she is not interested in sharing", but it sounds to me like she is interested in following the laws which protect many individual composers, arrangers, publishers, etc.

Wanna fight??

8) That's why I had no problem with it. I never meant to say that she SHOULD give it to the whole world. I totally understand it.

I think it's really gauche of people to print notes from people publicly without asking their permission. Particularly since this being the 'net, there is no way at all to prove that these notes actually have come from said person, or haven't been altered in some way to make the sender look however the receivers wants them to I left my heart, in San-Fran-sicooo Above the hills... and windy sea

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
