I'll trade a day or two--97F here yesterday.Alfie72287 wrote:I was curious if any TubeNet members live in upstate New York- The Catskills, the Adirondacks, etc. and have seen or can post any pictures they've seen of the flooding. In NJ, only two bridges that I know of are open for traffic across the Delaware River, and the news reported that the river is 16 feet OVER normal flood levels. We're dry here, but I can't say the same for everyone else.

You're right, though. Bayonne sucks. The truly amazing thing, though, is what has happened to Hoboken in the past 10 years or so. Hoboken used to be a slum...dirty, dangerous...not the sort of place you wanted to be. Now, it is a haven for folks working in Manhattan who don't want to live in NY. The price of real estate in Hoboken is ridiculous. And, believe it or not, parts of Jersey City are becoming like that, too. Maybe it's a matter of time before it trickles into Bayonne...
Tim Murphy, not from any of the aforementioned towns, but close enough.

Alfie,
I live in upstate NY, specifically Rochester. We didn't have any flooding here, thank goodness. I have been to the Binghamton area and eastern NY traveling on the Thruway. The Mohawk River is beautiful to see on the highway.
Send me a PM or e-mail at my profile and we can talk privately some more.

I have a great aunt who lives in Sidney, NY, which is about 30 miles north of Binghampton. I haven't heard from her yet to get the inside story, but it surely isn't good.Alfie72287 wrote:And about the idea of this thread- anyone living near the floods, or seen pictures or heard stories?
Last I saw in the news, the whole town flooded out, and it looked pretty bad. You can view some photos here:
