Gronitz FP 125 F tuba for sale

I really hate to give this one up but the living room is turning into a tuba parking lot. I have got to make room for other things in life. This tuba is a great instrument. I have owned it for barely over a year and a half and have used it on music of John Williams, Berlioz' "Le Corsaire", Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" and other music on-stage with the Chicago Symphony. The ONE drawback is, because I use F tuba rarely, I have to re-acquaint myself every time with its quirky intonation characteristics (i.e. fifth harmonics are NOT flat, sixth harmonics are not sharp, notes here and there have inexplicable intonation tendencies). Those tendencies are consistent, but they are not ones that I have committed to memory and, frankly, I am getting lazy and need an instrument that is ready-to-go and doesn't need me to have a fifteen minute "get-acquainted time" before I feel confident in bringing it on-stage. Otherwise, it has a great tone, is basically dent-free and like new. A cost for a new one is (according to the Gronitz website and the latest Euro conversion) $8834.99. [http://www.gronitztuba.de/englisch/index.html]. I will accept any reasonable offer. I don't get insulted. Make me an offer. Respond here on tubenet or my e-mail address is csotuba@cso.org. Ask any questions you want. I think it is a good horn. That is why I bought it to begin with! Happy hunting. Northern (aka Gene Pokorny)
