Wanted: CC tuba for 6,000 or less in the Midwest region

I'm in the market for a CC tuba, I'd like a 5 valve. This will be the first instrument that I myself will actually own, and it will need to be able to do solo, small ensemble, and large ensemble work.

Also, ignore the poll. I'm not getting that York, since it's too far from my area.

I've got a 4/4 Rudolf Meinl for sale in the chicago-milwaukee area in your price range. Check out my post a little ways down the page.

Greetings,

I will throw in the idea that you try a Sam Gnagey custom tuba from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. His CCs are wonderful, have a great dark sound and excellent intonation, and run under $6000 last I have heard. If you want his contact info drop me a PM.

Best wishes in your search,

Tim

I have a Meinl Weston 2155 that's two years old, and in great shape. A hard and soft case included for 6500. I'll bump my add so you can see the pictures.

If you suck it really doesn't matter, because no horn will save you. And don't substitute the judgment of others for your own, except maybe if they are buying it for you. Jeez!

I think if you have to ask this question, you probably need something a little more generic.Start with something general purpose, gain some wisdom and experience, then get equipment for your specific needs(Which tend to start out general and get more specific over time). However,if you play and like the York, and can afford it,you have my permission to get it :D

For those who had given me a PM about a horn, please PM me again, as that I had thought I was going to get the York, but now I can't.
Thanks!
