U.S. Army Band Live Webcast
From the shameless plug division...
Some of you may remember this from last year, but The U.S. Army Band will once again be webcasting our "Overture 1812" Concert from the grounds of the Washington Monument. The concert is 15 August 2006 @ 8:00 p.m. EDT (0000 GMT).
To watch the performance you will need QuickTime 7.0 or greater and a connection that can handle about 400-450k (that is most anything that is not dial-up). To listen, you will need 56k and most any mp3 player software (iTunes, Real Player, etc.)
In addition to featuring The U.S. Army Concert Band, Chorus & Herald Trumpets, there will also be a vocal soloist and bugle soloist from The United States Military Academy Band ( www.usma.army.mil/band/) from West Point, NY, plus the Presidential Salute Battery ( www.army.mil/oldguard/SpecialtyPlatoons/guns.htm ) from The 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard).
Tune in @ www.usarmyband.com
Thanks!

Sorry for those of you who tried to watch tonight's concert. Thanks to a certain telecom company (rhymes with horizon), our DSL line was never able to work. Long story short, they (aforementioned telecom) don't know what they are doing...
Again, sorry if you tried to tune in to no avail.
