Can I ask what horn you're using?

And if you haven't heard the John Fletcher recording of this, I'd suggest it. Listen and imitate his style, because his style for this piece is magnifiscent. It helped me keep track of my time and my sound when I thought of his playing.

A metronome is your friend in this piece (well, maybe excepting the 2nd movement.)
But, it sounds like you are off to a very good start :)

You make a good sound. If I were you I would aim for the bar lines a bit more. This will help with the ryhthmical accuracy. Don't rush the easier notes i.e the crotchets and minims, especially off the tie's. Think about relative pitch (Is it a tone, semi-tone, minor 3rd etc you are aiming for) instead of just going for notes. Works for me.

Your cadenza needs much more space.. Enjoy it.

Remember - IN TIME, IN TUNE, GOOD SOUND.

Good luck

the majority of your notes are right, but on those few sections you are haveing trouble, go through it slowly, and then begin to work on making more music out of the piece, you play well, but it almost sounds like you are just playing notes. work on making music. try singing it to yourself and listen to how you sing it then imitate that on your horn. also get a couple of recordings of it, the more you get the better. good luck and have fun
