Have to show front grille i modified

Post by CJ Krause »

I decided to remove the upper and lower middle bars and then i added some gutter mesh that i used on the lower grille that i bought at Lowes. took me 2.5 hours and i still have some small things to do. Total mod $3 for the 2 mesh gutter screens and all my hard work

but

I Love the Grille. it is a keeper

Good look, but I'm not sure it will make it through tech inspection... :D
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Charlie,

While I have not been the biggest fan of the HHR, I think your mods now make the front end look 1000% better.
Better still, you didn't go out and order $3000 worth of parts from the Ricer catalog, but you did it with a little creativity and ingenuity instead.

Congrats!

Nice. Look for GM to duplicate it in about 4 years, but claim they thought of it first :x . Then you can boast of having it first. I really like it. :D

Nice job, Charlie! That ought to keep the leaves and 'helicopters' out of your radiator

I remember how my dad had a fit when I took the verical bars out of the family '55 Chevy! He wasn't very happy with several things I did to that car.

Bet you get much improved airflow into the engine compartment lowering underhood temp.

Yeah!.... 'cept it was a turqouse and while 2dr sedan. I took out all the vertical bars leaving only the thin horizontal bars. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find some pictures of the '55 Nomad I sold about ten years ago. I got rid of the Nomad and the 1st wife all at the same time. It would have been a bargain and ten times the price!

I like it. Its a nice mix of classic and modern. I kind of thought "ish" until I saw the chevrolet on the top, but that really makes the part. COOL.
