First, You must understand that I am a a trombone player. No - more of a trombone jock - perhaps even borderline neurotic in my trombone fanaticism. I double on Euph, and Tuba has alwas been like a next-door neighbor - Good people, but I don't want you dating my daughter .
By the end of Track 1 (Live it up now), I was lovin' this CD. One of my fav's in a considerable collection. By Track 2 (S.P.C.V. - get the CD - you'll know what it means), I'm singin' along at full voice (much to my wife's dismay). By Track 3, I want to get a new retro haircut. By Track 4.... Well... forget role models... I don't want to be some pansy-athlete, Jordan-Woods, Astronaut-firefighting superhero.

I want to be a Tuba player. I want to be just like Ben Vokits when I grow up.

Well Done BAF. You guys are my hero. GREAT STUFF!!! When's the next one coming out?

Hi Ben,
So BAF is working on four tracks at a time. That seems like a reasonable bite to concentrate on. Best of luck.
We Creekers plan to have our second c.d. out by this spring. I am in studio cranking out my second set of four tunes. I want to get all my tuba parts done quickly so I can have some chin surgery done.
Are you guys using two tap dancers these days? Mr. Welch can't be married to both of them. Are you finally going to get one of your own?
Just listened to three videos on your web site. You're getting good punch and clarity out of your tuba.
Good music, got me all fired up.

We record at Nomad Studios in Daphne, Alabama. It's a one man operation and his name is Barry Little.
Barry was so important recording our first live c.d. that we can't imagine doing our second-all-in-studio-album without him. However, he was wrong about my tuba sounding better on his fancy mike than my SM-57 placed 12 inches out front of my recording (forward facing) bell. His studio time is $50 per hour and his vast knowledge and counsel is available for free.
Barry also sponsors events featuring story-tellers that interest us Creekers. (We never let facts get in the way of a good story.)
A customer in a bar asked me if we were Half-A$$ed Creekers or Half-Fast Creekers. I had to be honest and replied, "Both."
Ben, I don't know what a merch girl is but I'm just glad you're not alone and lonely.
