I was only 6, but yes, I do, along with the record long jump. For their ultimate embodiment of what the spirit of the Olympics is supposed to be about, the celebration of all regardless of origin, they got treated worse than dogs.

A sad day passing.

I remember it well. The furor ensuing ranged from wanting to strip them of their medals to revoking their citizenship. As it was, I don't believe that they were allowed to compete in any further events.

The article brought tears to my eyes.

YEAH!!! GO SPARTANS!!
In the 60's, San Jose State was known as "Sprint City". Lots of world-class track athletes came out of that program. Does SJSU even have a track team anymore?
