Effie Suite

Post by porkchopsisgood »

Hey guys....

If any of you have a recording (yourself or other) of the Wilder Effie Suite in any format (preferrably mp3 or w4ma), I would appreciate it. I am doing a Powerpoint and need some sound clips. Unfortunately, I don't have the sounds.

A purchase will be made post-haste. I can't find anything on iTunes, however, so that's it for immediacy. My presentation is for tomorrow. Any help at all will be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Please contact me here and then I will message you my email (this will keep me from receiving more than my inbox can take).

Once again, thanks....and I will be checking the board from time to time all morning.

THANKS!

I'm not sure if this would help--but perhaps other folks on the board here might find it amusing. I last performed the Effie suite at both a zoo (yes, a zoo) and a children's discovery museum. When I performed it, I had my wife tell a story that I wrote that helps to visualize the action in the music. That story is here for you to use/examine if you're interested. Likewise, if others on this board would like a copy, I'd be happy to send it as a PDF file attachment to whomever might like a copy. Performing the Effie Suite in this way certainly made for an enjoyable time for me--and it appears that audiences of ALL ages really enjoyed it. Feel free to use it as you wish!

Enjoy with my compliments!

EFFIE THE ELEPHANT

Once upon a time, in a jungle far, far away, there lived a great-big, fun-loving elephant named Effie. Though he was young in elephant years, he had great big ears and long white tusks. Life for Effie, however, was uneventful until he spotted an advertisement hanging from a vine:

“Come One, Come All! Folk Dancing tonight at the Water’s Edge.â€
