Looking for L.A. players

Post by Shockwave »

I have a few tuba sextet arrangements of christmas tunes that have been sitting in the computer far too long without having been performed. I'd like to put together a group of 2 tubas, 2 baritones, and 2 flugelhorns to perform some of this music at a tuba christmas event around L.A., perhaps Anaheim. Could anyone suggest a source of players around here, maybe an existing tuba quartet or a college music director? This is probably the last way I should be searching for players, but I don't know anybody here. The music is not easy, so I need good players.

Hi Eric,

GREAT Carol of the Bells arrangement, one of the best I've heard! Good luck with getting a group together to perform this at the Anaheim TubaChristmas!

You could try Dr Tony Mazzaferro at Fullerton College. Tony is the Director of Bands and Professor of Tuba/Euphonium. He knows just about all the local tuba/euph players.

VERY cool arrangement! Yes, Tony would be a good one to touch base with on this, especially as it might relate to performing at the Downtown Disney TubaChristmas on the 22nd. If I wasn't so overwhelmingly busy right now, I might even throw my hat into the ring on this.

Nice work, man!! Although I *am* somewhat partial to this version...
