As an aside, I have found that playing from the score is not a bad thing!
It really gives you a better global understanding of what the music is trying to express, when you are aware of what the other people are playing!

I agree - MEMORIZE! Its really not that difficult.
My suggestion to help in memorizing, start from the end of the piece - the last 8 bars or so. Then work backwards. Trust me - it helps.
Playing from memory enables you to play freer, more musical as you are listening more carefully.

How about, buy another copy of it. Maybe that will help you keep track of it next time. BTW, I have two copies of the Ewazen now because I lost it, bought it again, then found it. Nice lesson to learn.
