A shiny, new Haydn tuba. I goofed around too long and missed my opportunity. And boy, do I ever regret it.

You got it Bob. At the rate these things are being made, who knows when we'll see the production models. Both Dillon's and WWBW list them on their sites, but . . .
BTW: According to MW's web-site, they are bringing the 2040/2041 Ebs and the HoJo 2011TA and 2011FA to Midwest.

Well, there certainly won't be peace as long as people continue to observe "Christmas".schlepporello wrote:Peace in the Midlle East.ArnoldGottlieb wrote:PEACE
(like that'll happen any time soon)
Jeremiah 10
Idols and the True God
1 Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel.
2 Thus says the LORD:
“ Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple.
5 They are upright, like a palm tree,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot go by themselves.
Do not be afraid of them,
For they cannot do evil,
Nor can they do any good.â€

Well ... we did get better in the 60's when the cutting the tree business declined and we went with the more angelic aluminum tree with the rotating colorwheel light shining on it. But that didn't last long and, dag nab it, we backslided right back into sinful ways.

That's what I was alluding to, making sure i wished for a genuine Selman and not a fake...the elephant wrote:So, you're wishing for a counterfeit Selman?ken k wrote:not to be confused with the all the counterfeit Selmans out there......the elephant wrote:A genuine SELMAN!
and I won't waste a perfectly good wish on something I know ain't gonna
happen anytime soon.....
BTW – Selman and Tri-Star always tell you in the eBay ads to make certain that you are not getting a fake. I wonder who makes fakes of these obviously top quality brands of Indian goods . . . maybe there is an underground counterfeit brass instrument industry and market in Albania.
As far as the wasted wish I was commenting on wishing for world peace.

Now, now. We shouldn't knock these instrument makers because of the way they are now. Look at Billy Carter's humble beginning and consider the eventual greatness he achieved. He even got a beer named after him -- right up there with Samuel Adams.
