Debussy - Prelude a L'apres-midi D'un Faune

Post by John Banther »

I saw that Gene Pokorny made a recording of this on Tuba Tracks.

Does anyone know where I can buy the music?

How about this for an answer, Yes I have it but No I don't. Makes a lot on sense???

Micky Wrobleski brought over a whole stack of music the last time he came here from China. I've been to busy to get it printed! There is a book of transcriptions that does have the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn. It is ready to go to the printer, I'll probably get it there after the holidays.

In the last Master Class with Arnold Jacobs at Northwestern University in the summer of 1998, a very fine flutist came to the stage saying that she had never been able to get through the opening line of Prelude to the
Afternoon of a Faun
in one breath. After just 10 minutes with Mr. Jacobs, even in front of all the people in the audience...well, you guessed it.

You probably find a Flute version if you need it right away. You just have to read treble clef. Not a bad skill to add to the ol' bag-o-tricks!

I need it pretty soon, I'd like to do it on my recital in early January.

I will try to find a flute arrangement. Thanks

John
