I am selling my Miraphone 1291 CC tuba. It is a lacquer tuba that is in excellent shape and has been maintained on a daily basis. This is the instrument that I played when I won the Charleston audition, and it has helped to represent myself well at many others. It competes well with larger tubas, both alone and with section.
I am selling it because my current ensemble needs demand an even larger tuba, and I need to sell this tuba to finance my new one.
Asking price is $6000 and the tuba is located in Ann Arbor, MI.
Included with the tuba is an MTS 1707 hard case and an Altieri gig bag.
I will provide photos if you email me at cblaha@umich.edu.
Please also direct all inquiries to my email.
Thank you.

This is a great horn!
I helped Chris pick this instrument out from about 8 of them that I had in stock at the time. This one definitely has some magic in it. The sound and presence of this 1291 is extremely good and the pitch is excellent. This is an great value!
I play a lot of horns over the course of a few months. I played this one a couple of years ago. It says a lot when you can remember the feel of a specific horn. I remember this one VERY well. It impressed the hell out of me.
If you want more info of my impressions of this instrument, drop me a PM.

I know several people who have this same model of horn and have problems with the first piston. Have you experienced any valve problems? It is apparent that it is a factor inherent problem from this particular model.
