I have seen......
I have seen eight foot specemins that were dressed out close to 1000 pounds in Southeast Arkansas around Pine Bluff and Monticello. I have personally dressed out five foot and 400 pound examples that turned out to be very tasty.
All the stories you hear about these hogs being extremely fierce are true. I always carry a sidearm along with a very powerful heavy bullet round when I go after hogs. For example, I deer hunt with a 7mm Remmington Magnum with a 140 grain bullet for deer. That round will carry a 210 grain bullet when we go for hogs. My sidarm will be at least a 40 caliber, and most likely a .357 magnum.
If you get any hogs on your property, call me. It would be worth a 3 day hunting license to go to Tennessee, kill some, dress them out, and split the meat with you.

Hey, Bloke! If it's any consolation... those wild hogs can run uphill better/faster than they can go downhill. We got 'em around these parts too, but they usually stick to the biker bars in the evening hours.
