Well this is definitely off topic.
How many have this new toy in their homes? I saw it in action and it really cracked me up. Here's a clip on YouTube. A small dog comes into the picture and is impressed with it too.

I'm impressed with the engineering on how they get it stand up again once it's on its back!

The past two weeks there has been a sign at the top of the Hollywood Hills at the intersection of Bevery Glan and Mulholland Dr. that was a painted picture of this Elmo doll and a phone number, advertising that the toy could be had if one called the number.
I wish I had taken a picture. I wonder how many Bevery Hills exec types actually called the special Elmo hotline, and who was on the other end?

We had a choir Christmas party where one of our choir members picked up an Elmo for $40. She didn't really need one -- but knew that someone at the party may have been looking for one of these. We opened the box -- which wasn't easy btw. There's a flap on the box that does nothing when you lift it except trigger a sound box that says, "(giggle, giggle) Elmo is ticklish in here!"Tubaryan12 wrote:My mom wants one of those things. The second I find one in the store for the regular price, it's hers!

$40 sounds like the regular price.

If a young 'un was entertained by the toy for more than about 15 minutes, I'd start to worry. I mean, other than triggering the circuitry, what involvement does a child have other than to watch? Sam's nobody's fool.WoodSheddin wrote:Sam digs it and laughed hard for about 5 minutes then it was back to superman and his cars.
There are more opportunities for a child to use his or her minagination using the box the toy came in.
But then, it's ever been so.
