Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Yeah...that's very true...Maybe if you can find one, get an OLD Miraphone in good shape. I found an old Miraphone (being 35 years old) in good shape, and love the instrument.windshieldbug wrote:clagar777 wrote:?As in "does the prof have any strong opinions which should affect your decision".LunchboxTScontra wrote:I'm a college student looking for a good CC. ... I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...

Yeah, ditto on asking your professor first before you listen to any of our opinions on instruments (since there is no real clear cut winner). I got lucky and the principle of the Arkansas Symphony was selling one of his horns and my prof. got a chance to play it and hear me play it before I bought it and now my prof. says he likes the horn even more every day he hears me on it.
Search the archives and look at the 1000's of post on this topic...you'll mainly hear about Mirafone, Meinl Weston, Besson and some mixed reviews of Conn. My horn is a custom made by Sam Gnagey (Holton Eb bell and King CC valve section) and I highly recomend him. Before you take anyone's advice, ask your prof.'s opinion since he knows how you play and none of us do.

Sure. Have him give Baltimore Brass a call and set up a visit.LunchboxTScontra wrote:I'm a college student looking for a good CC. Does anyone have any advice on which brand I should look at, or what I shouldn't look at? I have yet to talk with my professor about it. But I'm just curious about what you all think.
