Thoughts On These Songs...

Post by passion4tuba »

I'm trying to do some research on "Toccata Marziale" by Vaughan Williams and "Chorale and Alleluia" by Howard Hanson. Can anyone pose thier thoughts on these pieces? Could anyone possibly point me in a directon where I could get some background information on them?

Appreciate the Help,

Thanks,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Bloke nailed it. Tom is somewhat of a 'spurt on that piece. I know for a fact that once he sees your topic he will chime in with the finest wisdom you can imagine. He lives for that tune.

It should be noted that he also lives for Sousa's "Nobles of the Mystic Shrine". THAT is a real head-scratcher. Bad march in a dark key without a good dogfight.

I love me some Nobles. I agree the dogfight could be better, but it's different, and different is good. Beats March Grandioso.

Thank you for the help and direction.

perhaps if I wasn't the butt of so many jokes when I made posts such as these in the past, I would not assume I was being made fun of over a year later.

No it never was, it's just me answering to bloke in truth. Now in all due respect perhaps if I was talking to you, I could see your input being needed, but since I wasn't....hmm...

Man, whatever. The point is, no one was talking to you. Take it however you want Mr. Rackley. I'm not going to sit back and argue with you as to why there was no need in putting in your two wheat pennies though.

There is an old saying about "burning the bridges behind you". I wonder if you aren't burning the bridges ahead of you.
