Besson 981/982/983 EEb hard case for sale.

Post by jon112780 »

I replaced one hinge, the wheels and the handle; but still protects better than a gigbag. It's in 'ok' shape and I have no use for it now, since I bought the medium Walt Johnson case to replace it, it's just collecting dust.

As far as i'm aware a 983 wouldn't fit in a 981/2 case because of the front action valves. Maybe i'm mistaken.

Not seeing the case, maybe the horn can be placed valves up? Is the 983 the same 19' bell that the 981 has?

At any rate, a Miraphone 1261 would fit in this case as well.

The 981/982 have 19" bells, but the 983 has a 17" bell. The inside was originally made large enough for the 981 (19" bell/top action) but the inside space was slightly altered to make room for the 983's front action valves as well.

So my (modified at the factory) case for the 983 will fit all the 981/982/983 EEb models, but the original case (981/982's) won't fit the 983 (no space for the front action valves).

Hope this clears up any confusion.
