Piccolo solo played on tuba
Apparently people have played the piccolo solo from stars and stripes forever on the tuba. And of course my band director wants me to play that solo on my tuba. Im wondering if anybody happens to have that particular solo written out in bass clef, because it's going to be a pain in the butt trying to transpose the whole thing.

Max!
Max!!
WRITE IT OUT YOURSELF! It will take you all of about 10 minutes once you find notation paper and a pencil! Or, get on the computer...it will be far less energy and effor to write it out rather than find someone to mail it to you....really.

I don't remember what I used for the first time I played that. There are tuba ensemble arrangements which have it all written out. It was probably in high school marching band (in the early 1970s, when everyone was doing it) and everything was written out without the trills. Those of us who could play them added them ourselves.

Or just have the arranger for your college marching band do it for your whole section. This version was done in 1975 for the tuba section at Long Beach State University. Jim Self was their tuba instructor at that time. I like the piccolos playing the tuba part.
