New B&S Rotary Eb?

Post by Chriss2760 »

Does anyone have information on the B&S rotary valve Eb? Price/availability? It's in the online catalog but I don't see anyone (e.g., Custom Music,) listing it. Is it available here in the States? Has anyone played one?

That entry has been on the old VMI website for several years, but is not in the new B&S catalogue.

If you are interested in a rotary valve Eb, then the only real options out there are the Meinl-Weston 2040/5, or the Miraphone 283.

I really love my 2040/5 (good for anything from quintet to full symphony orchestra use) and I am sure there must be people who are now enjoying the 283.

Mark Carter, aka Mr. Tuba in the UK, has a private label version of the M-W that has met with very positive reviews on TubaNews.
