ChopSaver

It works. If the celebrity testimonials don't convince you, it worked for me in one application, and my son, who has severe eczema, chapping and inflammation all the way up to his nose and down to his chin.

It works.
It does work, but I found it to be too greasy and odoriferous. After about three days, I went back to the old standby, Burt's Bees.

How about trying a household humidifier? Unless you're getting dried out from being out in the wind and cold for extended periods of time, seems to me that you're getting dried out from being in a heated building. FWIW, I experience the same chapped lips, bloody nose, etc. unless I run a humidifier in my house. . . especially in my bedroom. Once I do, my problems disappear. Then again, I don't spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter cold and wind. Just a thought.

This could be another application for the well known, Boudreaux's Butt Paste. If that stuff can remove diaper rash from a tiny baby's bottom in 24 hours, think what it could do for our lips! Try not to share a tube with the baby, the stuff smells bad enough fresh opened.

Being serious this time, I went to my general practitioner-type doctor and complained of 5-7 zits in the area under the mouthpiece after a long boogie gig ("trop-rock") 8). He perscribed Bactro-ban ointment that doesn't work any faster than diaper rash cream (Boudreaux's  ).

I got to see a dermatologist (skin specialist) and she (so hot) perscribed Desonide Ointment 0.05%. I heal a whole day sooner with this stuff.

Blistex has been the brass pro's choice for at least the last 30 years. I haven't had any need for anything else.

Lip Balm

Post by pianolance »

FWIW - Many people have a serious addiction to lip balm. Evidently there's nothing harmful in it, but people can become dependant on the stuff. I have never used lip balm and don't plan on starting now. I occasionally get chapped lips, but power through it. For more info read: http://www.kevdo.com/lipbalm/addict.html

BTW - Has anybody ever seen the Veggie Tales song "I Love My Lips" - it's hillarious.

My wife came home with some stuff called Solar-Pak. It's made in Aspen Colorado. I'm not sure exactly what's in the stuff, but after using it, burts bees feels cheap. It's really tough to find though. Perhaps on the internet. My wife sells it to her friends.

If you're intersted in trying it it's sold by Nordique, Inc, Aspen CO and the number on the tube is 866-920-4904.

Vitamin E capsules - the good ones - slit one open and rub it into your lips.
