Anyone know if there's a relation between the way you breath and hiccups? I seem to get them often when I'm playing.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well as any ideas on how to keep it from happening at an inopportune time.
Thanks

Re: hiccups
If I eat shortly before playing, that's just the ticket for me to get a case of the hiccups.rascaljim wrote:Anyone know if there's a relation between the way you breath and hiccups? I seem to get them often when I'm playing.

There is a pressure point in the center of the left palm that when given ample amounts of pressure from the opposing hand helps in getting rid of the hiccups.
I thought it was silly when I first heard it, but it works for me every time.
Just thrust your right thumb into the center of your left palm and keep constant pressure while breathing deeply. You may be surprised by the results!

I use hiccups an exercise for my mind to relax. I can "will" them to go away if I concentrate. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I can do it every time.

I've seen him bend a spoon with his mind, too. He's really weird...

Hiccups
Press into the depression at the base of your throat where your collar bones come together while drinking a full glass of water - this almost always works for me. On the rare occasions when it doesn't, just hold your breath repeatedly for as long as possible and they'll eventually quiet down. Hope this helps.
