Chicago Symphony Alpine Symphony concerts

Post by BradParrish »

Does anyone know who play the second tuba part for the CSO Alpine Symphony concerts this weekend? I went to the Sunday performance and it was amazing! It was also the first time I Heard the Organ at Symphony Center. It shook the hall!

It was Randy Montgomery from the Milwaukee Symphony playing 2nd tuba. That's a great combo of tuba players to hear live!

I was there in Chicago for DePaul audition and got a free ticket from one of the basson players in the CSO for the Saturday concert that was on the Brown Line Train with me on the way there.

Anybody else go hear Leipzig Gewandhaus on the friday night? Now that's what a B flat tuba should sound like!

What did they perform? That is a phenomenal institution. Who was playing B flat? Jürgen Bednarz or David Cribb? I would have loved to have been able to make the trip.

Dave Cribb was playing (I believe he's doing the entire tour as well)
