HD Nightster
We just purchased a Harley Nightster for my wife to celebrate her becoming a Police Officer. Anyone have any opinions on the bike?

I think she is ready. Some facts about Killeen are disturbing: 9 Cops patrolling a city of 100,000 at a time; thousands of Soldiers out drinking freshly back from Iraq with PTSD. She has four years of military experience with a tour of Iraq. She is a tough girl and will be fine.

Sharp looking bike. I'm a chrome whore, so its not exactly my style. I hope its enjoyable. Harley's (or at least bikes in general)are sort of a way of life amongst the men in my family. as soon as I get the money and time i'll be getting my riding license and fixing up my dad's old '74 sportster.
His ride is a real slick red and black Indian chief from when they came back into production about 5 or so years ago, gotta love a 100 C.I. power plant!
Here's to great machines and great times!

greatk82, you said "We just purchased " . Does that mean you get to ride it too ?
Congratulations to your lady. You don't mess with her do you?
My dad was a motorcycle cop in Chicago. He was chewing a plug of tobacco while riding to help quit cigarettes. He got his front wheel stuck in a street car track and barely managed to free it at the last split second - causing him to swallow his plug of tobacco. Sick boy!

In the early 90's I had a black Hugger 883. I enjoyed for two years, then got my money back out of it. But it was fun at the time.
Oh, yeah, the Nightster: the Nightster compared to my Hugger can be likened to the Batmobile in the most recent Batman movie compared to the original Batmobile from the 1966 TV show! Eminently tricked out in the best possible way. Nice bike! I'd love to give it a ride!
(Hey, Sean -- where's the thumbs up emoticon when you need it -- especially here!)

No, I won't be riding. I have far to many hip and back injuries to support a bike right now I meant "WE" as in WE are paying for it.
I have a difficult time supporting my own body weight most of the time without falling, so a bike is out of the question. She is hoping to become a motorcycle cop here in Killeen, but WILL NOT BE CHEWING TOBBACCO. I believe that is a hidden clause in our marriage aggreement.

Her previous bike was a '74 XLCH Sportster. We sold it in January because she couldn't kick it. Our choice was to buy a new bike or for her to gain 100 lbs.

Harley Davidson began sending motorcycles to Vietnam. Since over 98% of the vehicles on the road are motorcycles, you would think they are popular. No, there is a high tax on them. I have seen the Harley dealership but I haven't seen one Harley on the road!
