... and the first one says to the other, "You!? Since you stopped showing up, I was hoping I'd get to keep your viola!"
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

He had to check his notes first--you know, the one that says "Right hand: bow, left hand: fiddle".

... that van with the thumping bass! Is that Harold in Italy I hear!? (it's like a train wreck; you know it's coming, but there's still nothing you can do about it! :P )

A viola player went to a piano recital. The last number on the program was "Fur Elise" by Beethoven. At the conclusion, the viola player went up to the pianist and complimented him on his "trill" at the beginning of the Beethoven.

Yep. Up Bow and Down Bow. That about covers it.
No! No! No!

If there are 10 violists, there will be 10 different notes coming from the viola section.

This thread has to be some sort of revenge on the string section. Like one of the viola players asking me at a post-concert bash: "And do you play a musical instrument?"

And one of the violins saying "You were the one that did that arrangement? But you play the tuba!"

We all struggle with our stereotypes, don't we?

The sound of a well played viola is food for the soul. Unfortunately my community orchestra playing soul stays pretty starved.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.
