I'm sure you though of this...but how long would you want this wooden ball to stay round? As soon as the humidity changes, your wooden ball will go from round to oval.
You might want to check a craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. My wife bought some for her classroom a few years ago. As I recall there were some about 5 inches and some about 3.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.
Snooker balls are 2 1/8.
Pool table ( 8-ball) balls are 2 1/4.
Pay for play bar pool table cue balls are 2 5/16 or 2 3/8.
Carom billiard (3-cushion) balls are 2 3/8.
Bumper Pool balls are 2 1/8.
Most new ones are made out of phenolic resin so they don't shatter when they are accidently scratched off the table.
bloke, if it's big enough, a barroom pool table cue ball might be just the thing.
I know, evidence of a misspent youth, except one of my best friend's parents in elementary school had a regulation 9-foot snooker table, my folks had a regulation 8-foot 8-ball pool table, both with full inch thick or more slate beds, and the parents of a good friend in grad school had a carom billiards (3-rail, no pockets) table that was huge and weighed so much they had to pour an extra thick slab in the basement to stabilize it.
Unfortunately, my house is so small I can only fit in an octagonal bumper pool table with the flip top as the kitchen/dining area dinner table. But it has a nice oak finish that matches the kitchen cabinets, and everything stores on the felt under the top so it can all be put away when it's dinner time.
