I saw this linked on the Maynard Ferguson discussion board because the trumpet playing by Bud Herseth is so good, but there's this guy pounding out the tuba part who sounds pretty good too...

That would be Arnold Jacobs. This video is available on DVD (the first mvmt. from Bruckner's 7th is also on the disc).

What's most interesting about this video to me is the clarity of Hindemith's conducting. Minutes 4:20 to 5:00 is a study in clear preps for cues and especially how to get a tempo change out of a prep. Loved it!
