Hi-
THE HORN IS NOW SOLD-MANY THANKS FOR ALL WHO RESPONDED!!!
I have a very neat BBb-yes BBb-Conn Elkhart/Worcester silver 3 piston valve compact tuba for sale-serial # 16513-c. 1889!!!

Amazing little horn-height is 31 inches and bell is 14 1/4 inches--all slides and valves move freely--and it plays! 3rd slide crook is a replacement (but ferrels are original)--it was extended, along with extra tubing on tuning slide for extension--for high pitch reasons by someone. But this little horn plays (I have played it and Don Harry has too)--you look at it, and it looks like an Eb, but it IS a BBb. Horn needed a good polishing when pics were taken (NOTE: but today-Saturday, March 24h, I got ambitious in the early evening and shined the horn up--it is beautiful & the silver is all there--see the updated pics!) -the bell is adorned with beautiful floral engraving on it--Conn Worcester horns were made in the old Isaac Fiske factory and they were considered the superior Conns of the day (compared to Elkhart made instruments)--I've never seen one-a Worcester Conn upright tuba-- in BBb, or any tuba in BBb shaped like this. It has some dents on the back and bell, and pings here and there, but it is in amazing condition considering no case and its age-118 years old!
I would like to keep it, but other purchases have me selling it--I would like $550.00 plus $40 add'l shipping. Don't PM email me, but email me at
jonestuba@juno.com I only ship within the US, and it is first come, first serve. An inexpensive price for a nice historic 100+ year old Conn BBb tuba. You won't be unhappy with this compact tuba!
Thanks-
