I know that Lee Jacobs from BU got the alternate to NOI, and I believe that Tom Haggerty recieved the Tanglewood spot. Congrats to two fine players from Mike Roylance's studio!

Congrats! You will be playing in a section with all girls. I was there last year, and you will be having tons of fun. Make sure you bring like a gig bag, because you will be climbing up a couple of mountains every day back and forth for 8 weeks there, so, the tuba can get pretty heavy.

I'll be going to Greece with the Spoleto orchestra to play Elektra. I was not the initial winner for this festival, however, and I'm assuming the person who came in first will be playing the Charleston portion.

Tanglewood. An all-girl section? damn... I had a bunch of meatheads in my section when I was in the Young Artist Orchestra! lol

He is right though, you should have a gig bag. I had to walk all over the place and those of you who know me know that me and walkin... well, we don't really know each other...

Quick story, I missed the bus one day and had to walk my happy butt plus the tuba from the dorms to the rehearsal barn. Amazingly enough, someone stopped and offered me a ride. I looked in the back and noticed his violin. I accepted and found out he was a member of the BSO... it was awesome talking to him.

Also, Congrats Alex Lapins. It is nice to know you are doing well.

More power to the Good People who are Artists... who play Music ...who play tuba... of the Earth!

To the Generation who will further ELEVATE the artistry of the Tuba! So that all tuba players can join the fine tradition of music-making long established by pianists and violinists...!

Cheers!
