Snow..in April...in Texas
Did someone not get the message that it is April and that I live in Texas? It is snowing outside. My wife and I have barricaded ourselves in. We both grew up in the north, PA and MI, and refuse to have anything to do with cold weather.

That's one of the reasons I live in Texas. It is presently 36 degrees here in San Antonio. It isn't often that cool during the daylight hours on any day of the year, muchless in the month of April. It must be that global warming thing. Don't you think? I think I need to check my credits.greatk82 wrote:We both grew up in the north, PA and MI, and refuse to have anything to do with cold weather.

Wow. Yeah, my parents were sending me pictures all day whilst I was working with the marching band during the spring football game here of all the snow. My dad said it was snowing "like it used to when we lived in Alaska." Amazing.
BTW Schlep, that's a pretty lonely stretch of road around Aspermont. My dad grew up in Rule/Haskell and we used to deer hunt in Shackleford county when I was a kid. Good work staying safe!!!!!

I did a sunrise service Sunday morning at the exact same 28 degrees in Atlanta, GA. It felt really cold to us warm blooded southern types. All my flowers are gone. Everything, Azaleas, Peonies, Japanese maple, Crepe myrtle, Lillies, Iris, Snap dragons, Flowering plum, Astilbe, Ferns and even the Hostas, are ruined. I wonder if they will survive it?TubaTinker wrote:Did an Easter Parade Saturday morning. 28 degrees!
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

i know i am a bit late with this, but yeah. This past February, i was going to play in the baltimore symphony side by side concert. the concert was called off because of snow, and it was a real bummer. They would later reschedule it to april 10th when there was no chance of snow. buttt the saturday before the concert (concert was on a tuesday), it was snowing, and kinda felt like february alll over again.
but it did happen, so no worries.

Our water bill (Collin County near Dallas) has been the lowest ever. We can still only water twice a week for a short window, not that we need to now. Yet the water rates are being raised, because of lower usage and the need to cover the costs of the infrastructure. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. BOHICA! (Bend over here it comes again!).
