Tuba and Flute solo with band...Help!

Post by smaxwell »

Hello all,

I need a little help. I am looking for a good summer band piece to do with the local municipal band that is for flute (of piccolo) and tuba solo. Any ideas?

I know there is Author Pryor's Whistler and the Hound, but we performed that recently.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for any help!!

There is one called The Elephant and the Fly. Sorry, don't have anymore details about it but I we've done it here before.

Yep, Elephant and the Fly is a good one. I haven't seen a tuba transcription of it, though. That shouldn't matter if you can read the trombone part down an octave.

There's always the tuba/pic 'duet' to Stars & Stripes, too.

Stars & Stripes is always a crowd pleaser... One pic solo on pic and another on tuba....
