Large Brass Ensemble Music

Post by Dennis K. »

Hi All,
I am looking for some large brass ensemble music. I am looking specifically for 9-12 parts, percussion is ok, all pro players.
What are some recommendations for publishers and arrangements?

We offer a nice handful of larger brass ensemble music - for various instrumentations and sizes.

Scroll through the entire page for different instrumentations.

Thanks for taking a look -

The music written for the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, formerly pubished by Chester Music, is a staple of our large ensemble music. It is quite challenging but worth the trouble. The instrumentation is 4 trps (one picc), 1 horn, 4 trombones and 1 tuba. I believe that most of it is still available through the Robert King catalog. Two sound samples of this music are on the Large Brass Ensemble page, under the Repertoire page of our web site at http://www,homewoodbrass.com.

The Eric Ewazen "Symphony in Brass" is enjoyable to play and enjoyable for the audience as well. It's scored for 4 trumpets, 4 horns, 3 tenor trombones, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba and 2 percussion.

There is a sound clip and a pdf version of a score page available at:

Herbert Haufrecht's Symphony for Brass & Timpani is a classic, published by Boosey and Hawkes.

The CSO Brass recently performed Bruce Broughton's Fanfares, Marches, Hymns & Finale with the composer conducting. Fantastic piece.

Homage to the Noble Grape - Goff Richards. Very clever, very listenable. Also fun to play.

Try Cimmaron Music Press, http://www.cimarronmusic.com/,
they have quite a few offerings for brass quintets and larger ensembles.
