My prayers are definitely going out to Roger and his family at this time and for his full recovery and return to health, thanks for letting us know about this so we can all send our best thoughts & prayers Roger's way.

Roger -- if/when you read this, you're in our thoughts, get well soon and God bless!

I'm guessing c/o Tubadome (http://www.tubadome.com) would work for a card if no one can give a home address. Be sure to write "Personal" on the outside so it would get routed to him.snorlax wrote:Gosh...
Roger & I go all the way back to high school in NJ.
Saw him at Midwest in Dec.
Any contact info??
Jim
An e-mail that could be printed out and given to him might work, too. Again, to Tubadome.

Roger,
I'm so happy to be able to read your post and that you have gotten through such a terrible and frightening experience. Tubas can be replaced - you can't.
When I first heard the news reports this morning, my first thought was about your well-being. I kind of laughed it off as a bit irrational given the hundreds of people who drive the tollway on any given day. It freaks me out to read this.
Above all, though, I'm glad you're OK, as I'm sure we all are. I'm saddened for families of those who did not survive.

Roger Lewis wrote:Unfortunately, my wonderful JBL Classics F tuba was in the back seat. The bell of the horn actually served as an additional crumple zone and absorbed more of the impact (it was in the hard case) as the trunk moved into the passenger compartment. It will be leaving for Germany on Monday for repairs when I am back in the office
