Fantastic evening, and the food was very good, too. All played very well, as one might expect. Ko-Ichiro's trombone playing was something else!-- Contemporary Japanese big band trombone stuff. And hilariously funny! Nice to hear Chris Olka on the new Gronitz F, as well as the Yamayork. Anyone who thinks a BAT cannot be a solo instument should have heard him play the Handel variations on Harmonious Blacksmith. Chris' wife, Kim was just amazing in her ability to play the accompaniments so brilliantly in so many different styles.

I really wanted to go to this; but could not free up the time. I'm glad that it went well.
