It succeeds.

On the other hand, it was much more fun when it included only the "big" schools.

I hate having to search through over 400 of my high school alumni, 2/3 of whom go to community college (not that there is anything wrong with that).

A friend of mine showed his dad, who is a human resources director, how to use Facebook. He now routinely pulls up profiles when interviewing college students, and the results have often not been pretty.

I'm on facebook and myspace, but i don't really use them a whole lot any more.

I had forgotten that they added the high school part. Like I said, the thing was much better when it was smaller.

I'm on there. I don't do myspace, it is poorly organized and is a waste of time. I like facebook as a networking utility, a good way to keep in touch with people--- especially ones that would be harder to keep up with otherwise.

All you "youngins" who are on there, lets add each other and get a group going.

As for the old and willing, please come too.

I really enjoy making contact with tuba/euphers around the World.

So far, Facebook continues to open up great facilities for this and the feedback is very satisfying indeed!

I have been able to offer various bits of advice and even solos to those I meet. Together with Myspace, it's a fun & free way of networking.

I wonder if people thought the same when the postal service was a new idea? I would figure, just like anything else, it's what you put into it, just like Liz said (Hi Liz!). To me, it's a great way to keep in contact. Facebook and Myspace both have reconnected me to friends I haven't seen in years. What the heck is evil about that?

I do Myspace and facebook. For keeping in touch with my students, facebook is essential. Myspace (for me) is mostly for staying in touch with old friends and prior students. facebook is more current.

However, I now know way too much about my students... way too much.

I have two pages on Facebook.

One lists me in Saigon and the other lists me in Las Vegas--where I get my mail. I am always getting people who want me to show them around the Strip. I can tell them, but I can't be there.

The page in Saigon is used for business.

Although, by no means, one of the young, I am on Facebook. It is a useful networking resource. In fact I know of one orchestra which does a lot of its communicating via Facebook - if not on Facebook, one would rather be out of the loop.

I think you just have to be careful of what information you put up about yourself in relation to your privacy settings. For example don't put you are going on holiday if all the world will be able to read. However, if that is only visible to your "friends", then it is no different to mentioning to yours mates over a drink.
