For an awesome SRTEC! It was the first regional conference I was at, and it was great. The players were great, and the masterclasses were very helpful. It was amazing how many people in the Sarasota area came to the evening concerts. I've never before seen a tuba/euphonium concert at at least 90% capacity in the halls.

See everyone in Cincinnati next year!

Ditto... I thoroughly enjoyed my three days in Sarasota attending the classes and concerts. I was impressed with the number of original works being performed... and attendance by many of those composers.

It was three days of great music!

This was a top notch event with a great outreach to non-tuba and euphonium players and so many composers and new repertoire performed. I greatly enjoyed the artist ensemble and working with the "The Master" Joe Kriennes.

Kudos also the USF students for their hard work and enjoy your time off...you guys all earned it!!

The conference was worth the flight from Texas. Jay did an amazing job organizing it, and DAMN can he play!

Some personal highlights -

- The St. Boniface and Asolo Theatre concerts, where not only was there great music happening, but also loads of people from the community there to hear it!
- The handful of featured composers who were actually present at the conference, which was a really unique situation. I really enjoyed a lot of the new pieces, and I hope those composers will continue to write for tuba and euphonium!
- The extremely high quality of everyone's playing! Very inspiring...I came away from all the recitals feeling desperate for a practice room.
- The hardest ITEC reading session EVER, featuring Joe Kreines' arrangements for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra low brass section.

And of course it's always great to hang out with everyone! See you in Cincinnati!

All of these highlights were great. I especially liked the reading session, too. It was nice to get such a challenge, and it was fun. I knew I couldn't play that stuff down perfectly, but it was better than the stuff we usually end up performing for Octubafest.

Yes, and the part about hanging out with friends was great, too. In fact, it's one of the main reasons I go to these ITEA conferences. Sometimes, it's the only places you see these people. I really do look forward to hanging out with friends and old teachers. I can't wait for Cincinnati.

I just want to say, this conference was so great, that I on my way to the wood shed...and for the first time in almost six months, the euphonium is coming with me. I have a stack of music that I want to try to play again. I owe quite a bit of this to Mr. Kreines as well, for showing me there are options I forgot about as a musician.

So glad people enjoyed SRTEC! It was a real treat for me to "host" so many amazing players and teachers and to have really motivated students in attendance. The performances of my colleagues was truly inspirational. As exhausted as I am now- it's pretty darn hard to come down for the high that you all created. A HUGE thank you to all of the artists and exhibitors who came- you guys are the ones who made this thing rock! And each and every "student" in the audience made it a real pleasure.

Yep- Cincinnati here we come!
