SOLD Old silver Conn 4v Euph./Baritone & case-now $350 +

Post by bisontuba »

Hi-
SOLD!!--THANKS TO ALL WHO INQUIRED!!

SINCE I WANT TO MOVE THIS INSTRUMENT AND BOUGHT IT RIGHT, I'VE LOWERED THE PRICE AGAIN TO $350 PLUS $25 SHIPING WITHIN THE US.

Just came up with an old c. 1926-(serial # 216552) satin silver upright bell Conn 4 front action piston valve Bb Euphonium/Baritone & case. Horn bell diam. is 10 15/16" and is about 29 1/2" long. I have all the valves (they are in good shape) working fine, and have put in new felts, corks, and have aligned. All water keys are there & I've put in new corks. All slides are free moving, and I filled the horn with water, and no leaks. Some of the silver has worn off. I see a small patch on the leadpipe and the 1st valve tubing. Also, I believe the leadpipe ferrel going into the 1st valve is a replacement Dents are at bottom bow, and the worst one is the bottom bow opposite the bell side--dent also on 3rd valve tubing and a small one on upper bow. Bell says 'Made By C.G. Conn Ltd. Elkhart Ind. USA." with floral design around name.
Here are the pics:

(Note: Backside image of horn is showing the flash so it looks all brass--however, it IS silver with just very little silver wear!).
The old black case is original and is 'tired'--but its a big case! Perfect for a student. Looking at what used 4v baritones/euphoniums are going for from various dealers makes me think this is a good deal at latest new lowered price of $350 plus $25 add'l shipping. I ship only within the US. 1st come, 1st serve. If interested, email me directly (no PM email please) at: jonestuba@juno.com
Thanks!

Hi-
IMHO, it is model '86-I' New Wonder, made between 1924-27-discontinued in 1929.
BTW, the horn plays good.
