besson cleaning cloth and other cleaning products

Post by pgiampi1 »

has anyone had any experience with this product? the only place i found out about it was on steven mead's website...it explains that, when wet, the cloth cleans brass really well. any user testimonials?

also, way back i saw these terrific snakes and other brushes on a website that was linked from here - i wish i could remember more about the products, but i can't. any recommendations on those types of products?

Just do a search on this site for "cleaning" AND "(insert your finish: raw brass, lacquer or silver plate)" - you'll get loads of information.

Stay away from the older style wire snakes. I use H.W. Brass Savers to clean the inside of my lacquer-fading-to-raw-brass horns and Pledge and soft flannel rags from the auto parts store to clean the outside. I do not currently own any silver plate horns.

There are some newer "microfiber" cleaning cloths specifically designed for the purpose meeting with good reviews. Try Doc Fox at militarymusician.com as he can tell you more about them.

Phil,

I can attest that the cleaning cloth does work. Steve found it a few months back on one of his trips somewhere. He showed it to one of the higher-ups at Besson and they decided to include it with their horns. It does work - - - very well.

Hope this helps.
