TRADE: Selmann 3/4 CC for YCB 621?

Post by tubacody »

I would like to find someone with a YCB 621 in really any condition that would like to trade for a Selmann (Gold - 4 rotor valves). The two horns are comparable in size and power. I think the yamaha is a few $ more but we might work something out...

I had the leadpipe detached from the bell at a local repair shop, so there is a little lacquer-wear around that spot. It now has a 1/4" brace separating the leadpipe and the bell right underneath the Brand stamp. The horn plays very well with this addition.
So to clear it up...The horn came to me with a connected leadpipe, where it was attached to the bell at two points. I just had the pipe pulled away from the bell a bit.

I am hoping to do some tweaking with the ole' valve set on the ycb 621... like maybe add a fifth valve...? Anyhoo, anyone interested e-mail me at tubacody@yahoo.com

Also, Shoot me a line if you don't have a 621, but might have something close. I'm a bit flexible.

I don't know if you stand much of a chance on this one.

MSRP on a YCB-621 is $7K-$7.5K depending on finish. MSRP on the Selman is ? And the Yammies aren't easy to find.

You mgiht want to look at the little Weril CC tuba or even a Kanstul.

The Selmann ran for a time at 2K, 2.5K but I am unsure what they are like now. I will consider all 3/4 CC tubas, so let me know.
