Hey Doc,
Is this the link that Glenna sent us? I haven't checked that out yet...
They gave each of us a CD of our Spring concert on Monday, and when I get a chance, I'm gonna try to figure out that Acid Planet thing so we can share it.
There are some not-so-glorious moments, and then there are some nice ones. Tubas sound awesome, though!
Good view of our best side.

It is for me, anyway. It's just a shame that here in southwest Missouri I have to go to KC or StL to actually here one. Maybe I can help get one started in the next, well, with general musical tastes around here, millenium.Doc wrote:Yeah, I saw that one, too. Great stuff.
Ya know... there aren't woodwinds in BBB's. You would think BBB's would be more popular as a result.![]()

Moments are ok, but overall the piece was just too difficult for the group.
At least WE had fun playing it. (More fun playing than listening to it, anyways...)

This may also surprise you then. Absolutely NO hamburger.EuphManRob wrote:After four years in Texas, I somehow didn't know REAL Texas chili wasn't made with beans.
One of my favorite hiking/backpacking places in the U.S. is Big Bend National Park. When I was still in Texas, I would try to schedule my trips to the park when they were having the chili championship in Terlingua.

"A real cracker" is Britspeak for "really good"Greg wrote:Very good! Here is a link to Fodens playing "the President". One of my favorite marches for BB. I was told by one of our overseas companions in the St. Louis BrassBand "It's a real cracker". I agreed after we played it though I don't really know what a craker is appart from the racial slang and the ones you put in chili!

Well, as a lifelong New Jerseyan. I am totally using "they don't put beans in chili in Texas" next time someone tells me I'm weird for not liking it that way. Virtually all chili around here (except for the stuff my dad and I make), contains beans.
It is also universally made with ground beef. I will have to try it with chunks, as that is probably quite good.
I would be perfectly happy to trade an awesome (and very simple!) recipe for tomato sauce (and the best damn meatballs you'll ever have) for a great chili recipe.
I'm lookin' at you, Texas folk!!!
NJ may not know barbecue, but we sure have some great italian food!!
