Caravelle Classic
Does anyone know anything about the caravelle or caravelle classic company? I have a valve trombone I used to play before I taught myself how to play regular sldie trombone that is a caravelle classic. The bell says Caravelle Classic, Don E. Getzen, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It plays just fine but I am planning to sell it just due to the fact I rarely play it and could use the money to put towards upgrading my regular sldie trombone. If anyone knows anything about the company I am just simply curious.

I can tell you that the trombone in question is probably not worth much over a couple hundred bucks... IF it's in excellent playing condition. A good barometer for musical instruments is that popular auction website. Take a look for something similar and then run it in your local paper for double that amount and bargain down to whatever you can get. Or.... you can just put in on the auction and settle for $50-100. You might decide that the case is useful just for shipping. The mouthpiece is nice extra but won't add any value to the horn... unless it's a Bach Mount Vernon or something like that. Then... IT might be worth $30 my itself. Wish there was better news but old student-line instruments just aren't worth much.
