:? Wayne, I'm hurt. You didn't mention Atlanta. :o

 Just Kidding. I agree, this forum is great because we're talking to people from all over the world because of a shared common interest that is, of all things, a long metal pipe that we blow raspberries into. I mean seriously, go figure.

And Doc, the internet Boogey-man found me at 20,000 feet once Image so I guess he can get you anywhere, anytime.

I live in Sandefjord, Vestfold, Norway. It's a city (town?) a two hours drive south of Oslo. Our local airport is Torp, and if you fly with Ryanair, they say that you have come to Oslo when you land there, but that's not true.

Where I am from. . . .

Post by Tuba-G Bass »

I live in the Lehigh Valley, which
is Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and a bunch of smaller
towns in Pennsylvania.

Because of my Dad being a UCC Minister,

I was Born in Vermont,

Lived in three different towns in Massachusetts, [K-2nd grade]

Key West, Florida [Rest of 2nd to 6th grade, started Tuba]

Ruffin, North Carolina [7th to 10th grade playing Tuba]

Northampton, [rest of HS playing Tuba, &
no band in Community College]
Slatington, and now Catasauqua Pennsylvania.

I am not moving again!!!! :D

Originally from North Georgia. Dad is a United Methodist Minister, so moved around every 2-4 years. Therefore can't say one specific town I'm from, but my folks live in Athens now, and since I went to UGA, that's good enough for me. Lived in PA, MI, (for grad schools) and then band- directed back in GA before being lucky enough to land a job here in Greensboro, NC. Been here 12 years, so now this is truly home, especially for my kids.

Hey dwaskew!

Cool! another PK! [Preacher's Kid]

I lived in Ruffin, North Carolina from 1977 to 1981,
it was just north of Greensboro, outside of Reidsville,

I remember going to the Carolina Circle Mall there.

Hey Dennis,

Another Methodist PK here. Eight schools before college. But, all in the middle TN area. Born in Nashville and ended up here w/ plenty of bass work(some tuba). Email me about your slant on the kid I sent there this summer. Be well.

Born & raised in Omaha, Nebraska (yeah, it's true, to Omahans, the rest of Nebraska exists to hold up I-80 on the way to Denver, and to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on game days), went to college in Kearney, saw a lot of the country through family vacations & drum corps tours, and landed here in DC. For now, anyway.

Second most common question when you meet somebody in DC: "Where are you from?"

I was born in Hollywood in the old Cedars of Lebenon Hospital, which is now the largest Scientology center in the world. I was raised in West L.A. except for 3 years in Cambridge Mass when I was a kid. I have come back full circle to my old neighborhood. My studio faces Sony Studios in Culver City and I'm sure scores of people walk by every day and hear my tuba and other sound producing devices.

Born in Evansville, Indiana and spent four or five years in Derby, Kansas (near Wichita) during my grade/jr. high school years. Four years in the US Navy in the mid 60's, and the rest of my life in Newburgh, Indiana.... just five miles from where I was born.

I was born and raised in South Jersey (notice the South part!) across the river from Philly, was educated there and taught there forever! I did live in Orlando for about a year and a half when I was a kid and hated every minute.
