What do you do?
I think this falls in the category of rant.
2 Weeks ago today, I purchased two solos. One was from one of the "big" publishing companies. One was from a much smaller one, maybe some of you are familiar with. The solos were for a wedding gig coming up. It took the wedding party a long time to determine what solos they wanted played. (and yes, it is crazy enough to want a tuba soloist at a wedding anyway--- they were tuba players)
1. Big Company- Calls almost immediately after my order, almost as quickly as I recieved an email confirmation of my purchase. Tells me my solo is on back order, because the company doesn't publish this solo in house. The customer service representative tells me the solo will be delivered free of charge. Promises that they will not bill my paypal account until they have sent the materials. She also assures me they will ship a much faster, more expensive method (of which they did at no extra charge).
2. Small company- My paypal account is billed within hours and the said company owner accepts the funds that same day. I recieve no email confirmation of my sale. In an attempt to check the status of my order I email the press, yet recieve nothing back. In an attempt to check the status of my order I send a personal message on tubenet to said owner, yet recieve nothing back (although I know he has been online because I have seen his posts-- touting his publications). I then telephone the number provided on the website, have left two messages. I honestly have no clue if the materials are back ordered, have been shipped, or if I have been robbed.
In two weeks, the bigger company took the time to call, keep me informed of my purchase, shipped the materials for free, and even gave me reciepts that weren't paypal transactions that I could print out for billing to the wedding party.
In two weeks, I have yet to hear anything from the smaller company. I have made every attempt to contact them. They took my money almost immediately yet offered zero customer service, that is if they are in fact planning on getting around to shipping my order.
Flame away.

Well, I've set a personal deadline of Wednesday. I'm turning the account (all less than 20 bucks of it) over to paypal.
It really stinks. I have done so much business with Tubenet sponsors, now I've got myself questioning that. I've given the said person plenty of time to cooperate, other than calling him out on the board by name.
Just return my PMs, either give me a refund, or send me my music.

It would seem that the originator of this thread has taken the high road, not directly calling out said vendor... !djwesp wrote:I recieve no email confirmation of my sale. Carpe filum (seize the thread!)

The wedding is less than two weeks away.
The said sponsor is not "out". This sponsor has logged on tubenet touting his products many times since then. In fact, he was online this morning. Which completely steams me.
As of today.
1. 4 Phone Calls
2. 2 Emails.
3. 5 private messages on Tubenet. Of which he is logging in to post and ignoring.

Hey Wade, I need a Second Viennese School-style arrangement of the following tune for pogo cello and Scottish Great Pipes:the elephant wrote:What is the tune, and what instrumentation? What are the length requirements? What level of difficulty do you need (sight-readable, one rehearsal, life commitment, etc.)? Any weird range requirements? When do you need it in your hands?

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I agree. As long as you are ONLY posting FACTS. I would like to be able to avoid repeating your experience with this vendor! If you used a credit card with PayPal you might look into a chargeback on your card and try to avoid PapPal red tape.Name names. It is your duty as a reporter to protect the public.

I used money from my paypal balance.
Regardless, the issue here lies with the fact that I respect sean and tubenet too much to disclose the name.
By being a sponsor of tubenet (I assume he actually pays his bills with sean, even if he doesn't ship me my music) If I out said buyer, by name, on the forum--- that doesn't bode well for what is trying to be accomplished.
Trust me, the beef with this seller would be a lot of fun to air out, but I need to look out for the well-being of this board. Sean has a lot of bills to pay, and ever sponsor help keeps this alive. The best advice I can say, "buyer beware". It is one of those things where it could happen to anyone, at least make sure you leave a paper trail like I did. (is it called paper trail, even if it is on the internet?)

(A joke aimed not in reply to you sir, but at one of our more succinct-challenged compadres, who, judging from his response style, often peruses these threads without having posted first)iiipopes wrote: Huh?
