Gee.... this one looks like a Marzan to me! Maybe he just got his famous tuba players mixed up? Didn't B & M produce piston CC Marzan tubas under their own name too?

B & M made the larger Marzan tubas. Willson made the smaller versions and the Marzan euphoniums. I think you are correct in thinking there were lots of the same horns with just the B & M name. Keep in mind that Marzan was just a name on a B & M horn... not really a brand.

Current 'stable'... Rudolf Meinl 5/4, Marzan (by Willson) euph, King 2341, Alphorn, and other strange stuff.
Depends how much this goes for. Without having played on this one, it is hard to say, but some of the factory CC's had less than desireable intonation and inconsistent response. The lack of a 5th valve makes it harder to come up with alternates for some of the funky notes. I had one for a few years, and while it did have that "York" sound, everything else about it did not make it one of my favorite horns. I was much happier with the 1290 that replaced it.
