Latest project CC-picture up now

Here's our latest project. The valve section and bows are from a Bundy 4-valve BBb that was obviously built by Boehm and Meinl from the mandrels and specs for the York Master. The bell is a vintage York monster Eb from the teens. Bore is 19mm (.748) throughout. It will be a keeper for me. We have another York master to do the same way. Has anyone encountered another BBb Bundy built exactly like the York Master BBbs? Perhaps it was a one-of-a-kind instrument.

Sam, maybe it's just me, but there's a really cool looking tuba where there's supposed to be a Bundy.

This looks a lot like my Getzen, but with better 5th valve placement- sweet!

Yes, it seems pretty strange that it would have had the name Bundy on it. Although there were some pretty good instruments put out under that trademark. It can be found on some nice 3/4 BBb tubas and 3-valve non-compensating euphoniums that were made by Besson, and their cornets and trumpets were knock-offs of Bach horns.
The CC pictured plays and sounds great. I wonder why Nirschl doesn't make one just like it.

Tradition runs pretty deep in Germany. Those sweet, resonant, almost-horizontal US bells ain't in the plan. (regardless of how good they sound)
